Representing Northern Arizona Youth Lacrosse at the event were founder Molly Whitehead, volunteer Lydia Nardo, volunteer Jack Whitehead, and President Shannon Roberts. Throughout the day, the booth welcomed dozens of kids and parents who stopped by to learn more about the sport, ask questions, and try lacrosse for themselves.

The booth featured live lacrosse demonstrations, a goal for kids to practice shooting, information about how to get involved, and an interest list for families wanting updates on future programs. Visitors also enjoyed free giveaways, including stickers, candy, and temporary tattoos, which helped create an inviting and family-friendly space.

One of the highlights of the event was seeing so many children enthusiastically pick up a stick and try something new. For many families, Celebration of Spring was their first introduction to lacrosse, making the event an exciting opportunity to build awareness and spark interest in growing the sport locally.

By the end of the event, more than 20 people had signed up for the organization’s interest list, with many more stopping by to talk, watch demonstrations, and learn about future opportunities to play. The strong turnout reflected a clear curiosity and enthusiasm for youth lacrosse in the Sedona area.

The organization’s goal in participating was simple: to introduce itself to the community, provide information about how to play lacrosse, and invite local families to stay connected as programs continue to develop in Northern Arizona.

Northern Arizona Youth Lacrosse is grateful to everyone who stopped by the booth, tried lacrosse, signed up for updates, and helped make the day such a positive experience. Community events like Celebration of Spring are an important part of building awareness, creating access, and growing recreational lacrosse opportunities for kids across the region.
