Lacrosse is coming to Prescott, and local kids can try it completely free!
Northern Arizona Youth Lacrosse is hosting a free youth lacrosse clinic in Prescott, Arizona, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Heritage Park. The clinic is open to boys and girls in grades K-12, including children and teens who have never held a lacrosse stick before.
There is no cost to attend, no prior experience is required, and all equipment will be provided. Families do not need to purchase a stick, goggles, helmet, pads, or any other lacrosse gear for the clinic.
The goal is simple: give kids throughout the Prescott area a fun, low-pressure opportunity to try a new sport close to home.

What Will Kids Do at the Clinic?
The Prescott youth lacrosse clinic is designed as an introduction to the sport, not a tryout. Players will learn the basics through age-appropriate instruction, skill stations, and games in a positive recreational environment.
Activities may include:
Learning how to hold and control a lacrosse stick
Scooping ground balls
Passing and catching
Shooting on goal
Movement, teamwork, and small-sided games
An introduction to the differences between boys' and girls' lacrosse
Participants will be divided by age when attendance allows so younger children, middle school players, and high school students can learn at an appropriate pace. The emphasis will be on staying active, building confidence, meeting other local players, and having fun.
No one is expected to arrive knowing the rules. That is what the clinic is for.

Lacrosse combines speed, coordination, strategy, teamwork, and creativity. New players can begin learning the fundamentals right away, while the sport continues to challenge them as their skills and lacrosse IQ grow.
For many young athletes, lacrosse also complements the sports they already play. It develops hand-eye coordination, field awareness, quick decision-making, footwork, communication, and endurance. More importantly, it gives kids another place to build confidence and feel connected to a team.
Northern Arizona Youth Lacrosse believes families should be able to explore the sport without facing an expensive upfront commitment. By making the clinic free and providing equipment, NAYL is removing the two biggest barriers for most first-time lacrosse families: cost and access.
Meet the Prescott Outlaws
The clinic is part of the launch of the Prescott Outlaws, a recreational boys' and girls' lacrosse program created by Northern Arizona Youth Lacrosse.
The Outlaws are currently welcoming players for their inaugural Fall 2026 season. The program is being built for beginners and returning players alike, with an emphasis on skill development, sportsmanship, confidence, teamwork, and community.
The August 8 clinic is an opportunity to try lacrosse without committing to the season. Families who enjoy the experience can learn more about the Prescott Outlaws youth lacrosse program, but there is no obligation to register for a team.
