Northern Arizona Youth Lacrosse is officially growing in Flagstaff!

Following an incredible turnout at our recent Flagstaff Youth Lacrosse Clinic, registration is now open for the Flagstaff Astros inaugural Fall 2026 lacrosse season.

The clinic brought together kids and families from across the Flagstaff area for an afternoon of learning, movement, teamwork, and—most importantly—a whole lot of lacrosse.

For many of the players, it was their first time ever holding a lacrosse stick. By the end of the clinic, kids were cradling, passing, catching, shooting, running drills, and getting a feel for why lacrosse is one of the fastest-growing youth sports in the country.

The enthusiasm we saw from Flagstaff families was exactly what we hoped for.

Flagstaff is ready for youth lacrosse, and the Astros are ready to take the field.

Flagstaff Astros Fall 2026 Registration Is Now Open

Northern Arizona Youth Lacrosse is excited to launch the first Flagstaff Astros fall season beginning September 3.

The program is designed to introduce more Northern Arizona kids to lacrosse while giving beginner and intermediate players an opportunity to build their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game.

Flagstaff Youth Lacrosse Practice Schedule

Season Kickoff: Thursday, September 3, 2026 Practices: Thursdays from 4:30–6:00 PM until late October Location: Foxglenn Park in Flagstaff, Arizona

Players will be divided into two primary age groups for the fall season:

  • Elementary School

  • Middle School/High School

Teams will initially be co-ed, allowing us to grow the Flagstaff lacrosse community while giving more kids the opportunity to get on the field while learning beginner and intermediate skills.

No previous lacrosse experience is required.

Beginner-Friendly Youth Lacrosse in Flagstaff

One of the biggest goals of Northern Arizona Youth Lacrosse is making the sport accessible to families who may be completely new to lacrosse.

Players do not need years of experience—or any experience at all—to join the Flagstaff Astros.

Throughout the fall season, practices will focus on fundamental lacrosse skills such as:

  • Cradling and stick control

  • Passing and catching

  • Ground balls

  • Shooting

  • Footwork and movement

  • Basic offensive and defensive concepts

  • Teamwork and game awareness

Our coaches will continue building on these skills throughout the season in a positive environment where kids can learn, make mistakes, improve, and have fun.

Because at this stage, that last part matters quite a bit.

Flagstaff, Prescott and Verde Valley Lacrosse Teams Come Together

Being part of Northern Arizona Youth Lacrosse also means Flagstaff players will have opportunities to meet and compete with young lacrosse players from around the region.

The Astros will participate in two play days during the fall season, bringing together our Northern Arizona youth lacrosse teams for friendly games and game-day experience.

Players from Flagstaff, Prescott, and the Verde Valley/Sedona area will have the opportunity to take what they have learned during practice and use those skills in real game situations.

First Fall Lacrosse Play Day

Sunday, September 27, 2026 Posse Grounds Park Sedona, Arizona

These play days aren't about standings or high-pressure competition.

They are about giving new players real experience, helping kids understand the flow of a lacrosse game, building friendships between our Northern Arizona teams, and continuing to grow the sport throughout the region.

Growing Youth Lacrosse in Northern Arizona

The launch of the Flagstaff Astros represents another big step toward creating sustainable youth lacrosse opportunities across Northern Arizona.

Our goal is bigger than one team or one season.

We want kids throughout Flagstaff, Prescott, Sedona, the Verde Valley, and surrounding Northern Arizona communities to have the opportunity to discover lacrosse close to home.

That starts with introducing kids to the sport.

Then we give them a place to play.

And eventually, those first-time players become experienced players, teammates, leaders—and maybe even the coaches who grow the game for the next generation.

The families joining the Flagstaff Astros this fall get to be part of that story from the very beginning.

Join the Flagstaff Astros This Fall

If your child attended our Flagstaff lacrosse clinic and couldn't stop talking about it afterward, we'd love to see them again.

And if they missed the clinic but have been looking for a new youth sport in Flagstaff, they can still join us.

Beginner and intermediate players are welcome, and no previous lacrosse experience is necessary.
